Many Hands One Heart

In 2019 Homotopia collaborated with Many Hands One Heart – Sahir House’s LGBT Refugee/People Seeking Asylum group. I was commissioned to deliver a series of workshops on the theme of identity and ‘Resist! Resist!’. Using large scale banners as a format we worked together to create protest style graphics and messages. Working with the group from Many Hands One Heart was a real honour and incredibly humbling. I set out to give them a voice; asking them what they would say to people if they didn’t have to fear any repercussions. Their willingness to share their stories with me and to get stuck in with creating art made the workshops a very rewarding experience. There was an incredible amount of patience, compassion and love from all the participants along with a massive amount of strength and humility.
